The Power of Copy: How Pinus Florist Started Telling Stories Instead of Selling Flowers
THE
BACKGROUND
Captions That Did None of the Talking
Before Catha Digital came on board, Pinus Florist's Instagram feed looked like many boutique florists: bright, carefully composed photos of bouquets, arrangements, and seasonal stems. The floral work was undeniably skilled, but the captions were doing none of the heavy lifting. Posts leaned heavily on straightforward descriptions: flower varieties, color options, and pricing details.
For a florist, that approach misses the point of why people buy flowers in the first place. Flowers are rarely bought as raw commodities; they are purchased as symbols of celebration, apology, sympathy, and love.

THE
STRATEGY
Sell The Feeling, Not Just The Stems
Catha Digital stepped in to rebuild the account's copywriting from the ground up around a simple premise: nobody scrolls past a photo of flowers looking for a botany lesson. They stop when a caption connects the arrangement to a feeling, a moment, or an unspoken sentiment they recognise from their own lives.
We developed the Situation-Emotion-Product (S-E-P) framework for Pinus Florist. Every post starts with a familiar human scenario (the awkward first anniversary, the quiet apology, the congratulations across time zones), articulates the exact emotion in play, and introduces the arrangement as the natural physical expression of that thought.

WHAT
CHANGED
The Situation-Emotion-Product Framework in Action
Copy was the starting point, not the finish line. With the Situation-Emotion-Product framework established, Pinus Florist's comment section transformed from inquiries about stem prices to conversations about relationships, personal memories, and celebratory plans.
Customer engagement tripled across both Instagram Reels and carousel posts, with followers saving posts not merely as floral references, but as copy they resonated with deeply.
